Job description

​

We are on the search for an enthusiastic, passionate, and dynamic individual to join us at Sonas Hotel Collection as Operations Manager at Duisdale House Hotel. 

​

As the Operations Manager, you will work closely with all Heads of Departments as well as the General Manager of the hotel.  You are responsible for the day to day operational running of the hotel with line management responsibility for the Food & Beverage, Reception and Housekeeping teams. You will also work closely with the Head Chef, General Manager and central support functions to ensure the overall success of the business.

A snapshot of your key responsibilities: 

​

• Plan and direct the hotel main operations including quality, standards, cleanliness, guest satisfaction.

• Work alongside all HODs to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day operations, monitoring business levels and managing budgeted departmental costs including but not limited to, payroll and stock control and cost of sales.

• To oversee all departments ensuring that revenue/profit budgets/targets are achieved.

• Promote a positive people culture through effective communication and regular team meetings.

• Ensuring adherence to all current legislation including but not limited to Health & Safety, Food Safety and Employment Law. 

• Ensuring the smooth running of the Hotel’s Reception, Food and Beverage and Housekeeping departments.

• Overseeing all operations departments in the absence of the department manager

• Driving standards of operation within the Hotel ensuring successful leadership, continued training and development for all.

• Recruitment & retention of your team. 

• Initial & ongoing training of your team. 

• Driving the commercial success of the business.

• Create, implement & maintain all operational policies and procedures with department heads. 

• Control and reporting of KPI’s.

• Deputising for the General Manager in their absence.

 

Key requirements for this role: 

 

• Previous experience in a similar role. 

• A passion for hospitality and a drive to grow and develop yourself and your team. 

• Fantastic communication skills. 

• Strong commercial acumen. 

• Ability to collaboratively analyse P&L results and implement action plans or continuation plans where necessary.
